Setting up the Pi to run as a webserver

Postby cottonpickers » Thu Jun 07, 2012 6:57 pm

Well, I love solar, and the Pi is turning out to be a winner....

My next project is to get the Pi running a webserver and see if I can host a website off it - ideally running 24x7 off solar..... Any suggestions for software? otherwise follow me as I try to get this working.

lol thats what i was thinking :) though i was debating a slight offshot of that, and EyeOS Server.

http://www.eyeos.org/

its basically a webtop OS, best suited to tablets, but works well for normal desktops as well :)

This guy has a page that I used to set-up my raspi as a webserver, in just a few minutes:

My raspi os was built from the image: 2012-07-15-wheezy-raspbian.img

Mine has been running http://www.aikitek.org for several months now.
A little slow with wordpress on top but plenty good enough for my needs!

Just about to kill it with a large picture based post about my Linksys case: http://www.aikitek.org/wordpress/?p=105
